How do I import my data?
Open LifeVis and tap the Import button. Select the platform you want to import from and follow the step-by-step instructions to download your data archive and import it into the app.
Why can't I log in and have the app import my data automatically?
We'd love to offer that, but most platforms either don't allow it or make it impractical for independent apps:

The good news: privacy laws like GDPR require all these platforms to let you download your own data as a file. That's exactly what LifeVis imports. It's a few extra steps, but it's reliable, private, and works regardless of what these companies decide to do with their APIs.
Where is my data stored?
All your data is stored locally on your device. LifeVis does not upload your data to any server. The app works completely offline after you finish importing.
Which platforms can I import from?
LifeVis supports importing from Instagram, Facebook, WordPress, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Google Maps Timeline, TripIt, Airbnb, Booking.com, Blogger, PDF resumes, and travel itineraries.
How does sharing work?
You can generate a shareable link that lets others view your visualizations in a web browser. Sharing is optional and can be password-protected. You can stop sharing at any time. Data is transmitted through an encrypted relay and is never stored on the server.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can delete individual items or all data from within the app at any time. Since your data is only stored on your device, deleting the app also removes all data.
Does LifeVis work on both iPhone and Mac?
Yes. LifeVis is available as a native app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android with full feature parity across all platforms.
How long does importing take?
It depends on the size of your data archive. Small archives (a few hundred posts) import in seconds. Larger archives with thousands of posts and images may take a few minutes. The app shows progress during import.
